The space

Quietness – do you still know what it is? In the Karoo one can still experience that privilege.
Badsfontein, a merino sheep farm, is 20 km out of Murraysburg, our little town.
The house has a lovely “braai room’ with an inside fireplace. Everything you need is in the kitchen/braai (URL HIDDEN) of the equipment maybe a bit older, but everything is clean and works. Four/ five bedrooms ,with very comfortable new mattresses.Most beautiful views from the old house. We also offer lovely walking, mountain biking and running roots on the farm.
A large irrigation dam ideal for water-skiing , canoeing or even swimming is only 500 m from the house.
Ideal for family holidays- a place away from everything, but close enough to Graaff-Reinet for shopping and visiting historical places.

Other things to note

Travelling between Johannesburg and Cape Town the Old farm House will be the first day of your holiday! You’ll like the atmosphere ,lovely clear skies for incredible stargazing and stretch your legs after a day in the car by walking to the dam.

How to get here

From Cape Town: Follow the N1 north, passing Laingsburg and Beaufort West. 123 km from Beaufort West, turn right on R63 eastbound. Continue straight for 43 km until you reach Murraysburg. Take left hand turn to Richmond (in front of church). After 18 km you’ll find Badsfontein on your left hand side.

From Graaff-Reinet: Travel 99 km from Graaff-Reinet on the R63 in a Western direction to get to Murraysburg. Take right hand turn to Richmond (in front of church). After 18 km you’ll find Badsfontein on your left hand side.
