The Sneeuberg Aquatic Conservancy is a fly fishing club Started in 2013. The mission of the club is to promote the sport of fly fishing in the Karoo.  The club also want to encourage and extend the culture and protection of Trout and other desirable freshwater fish in the Karoo. Secondly SAC want to foster a public demand for the maintenance of the purity of rivers and inland waters, and enquire into cases of pollution and the means for their suppression.

Fly fishing is an angling method in which an artificial “fly” is used to catch fish. The fly is cast using a fly rod, reel, and specialized weighted line. Casting a nearly weightless fly or “lure” requires casting techniques significantly different from other forms of casting. Fly fishermen use hand tied flies that resemble natural invertebrates or other food organisms, or “lures” to provoke the fish to strike
